Pulkkilanharju Esker, Asikkala

Pulkkilanharju Esker in Asikkala resulted from deposits of the meltwater system that transported material to the Second Salpausselkä. It is an especially scenic narrow esker belonging to the Päijänne National Park and cutting through the southern part of Lake Päijänne, offering wonderful lake views on both sides. The road that leads from Asikkala via Pulkkilanharju to Sysmä and further north has been voted the most beautiful landscape route in Finland.
