Kammiovuori Hill, Sysmä

The rugged Kammiovuori Hill by Lake Päijänne in Sysmä is the second highest point in Southern Finland after Tiirismaa. From the summit of the hill there are beautiful views over Lake Päijänne, and the area has a four-kilometre-long guided path and a lean-to shelter. One of the interesting sights along the trail is the seven-metre-high erratic boulder called Linta. From the geological point of view, the most impressive feature is the steep western slope consisting of 1 880 – 1 890 million year-old granodiorite – and below it the massive boulder deposit formed by stones detached from the cliff slopes above.
